The judgment behind the code.
Nearly 30 years building software. I started in 1997 administering systems and programming, and I haven’t stopped building since. I’m a certified Analista Programador (Programmer Analyst) from Universidad ORT — but what defines my work isn’t the credential: it’s having sat on almost every side of the table — developer, tech lead, CTO and founder.
Depth in fintech and critical systems. I spent 15 years at a money-transfer company, first as a developer and tech lead, then as CTO. There I built the kind of software that can’t afford mistakes: legal compliance, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing controls, international watchlist screening, payment gateways, and SOAP, REST and custom APIs. It’s the kind of work where quality and security aren’t negotiable — and I bring that bar to everything I do.
I know how to lead engineering, not just write code. As CTO I ran the support, development and infrastructure teams: talent management, agile methodologies (Scrum), continuous-improvement processes, high availability and performance. When a project needs it, I assemble and coordinate the right team.
I build products, not just projects. I’m a serial founder: GProjex (an incident-management SaaS on AWS), TributApp (automatic tax calculation for independent workers in Uruguay, which I co-founded), Stone Framework, Buscandoatobi.com (with Elasticsearch, microservices and DevOps on AWS) and KBDeepdive.AI. I know what it takes to carry an idea from zero to something that runs in production and that people actually use.
A recognized voice in GeneXus. I’ve spoken at GeneXus events since 2003 and won the GeneXus Challenge twice, in 2007 and 2010. It’s a community where reputation is earned by showing, not telling.
Today: serious development, at AI speed. From Sincrum, my studio, I help companies adopt new technologies and build and modernize software faster. AI writes code fast — but nearly half of AI-generated code ships with security problems, and someone with senior judgment has to catch them and design the system so it scales. That’s me. I don’t sell “the machine does the work”: I sell the judgment that directs it and the method that keeps speed from turning into technical debt.
If you have a product to build from scratch, a legacy system to modernize, or real AI to integrate without the hype — let’s talk.
